Initial focus as Commissioner:
1. Emergency Services – As growth comes, our emergency service personnel, equipment, and facilities will be strained even more than they already are. I will work closely with all stakeholders in emergency services to enhance services as soon as reasonably as possible. Supporting our first responders must be our first priority.
2. Emphasis on grant writing – A part-time grant writer position could pay for itself multiple times over with just one grant.
3. Accountability & Fiscal Responsibility – All government employees should be held accountable. We are servants of the people, not their rulers. Further, County purchases will require sound reasoning & debate.
4. Business Friendly – We need grocery stores, gas stations, restaurants, retail and other businesses. Smart business growth should be embraced. A hostile business environment helps no one.
5. Roads – It’s going to take an entirely different approach to get ahead of road maintenance. Let’s make a workable plan and stick to it.
6. Planned Growth. Growth is coming whether we like it or not. We need to get ahead of it and plan for the future.
7. Freedom. There are nefarious forces working tirelessly to steal the few freedoms that remain. Getting those freedoms back must start locally. We must demand it.
Boise County’s best days are ahead of her. Let’s work together for positive change!
